2005 Christmas Gifts
Well, this year I got quite a bunch of stuff. Star Wars: Clone Wars Vol.2 Garfield and Friends Vol. 5 Episode Guide books of The Simpsons and Family Guy. Cartridge for my printer. A sort of security system for my room. $50 Giftcard to Best Buy. $50 from my uncle and aunt. and some more assorted nic-nacs. | | Sunday, November 13th, 2005 | | 12:44 pm |
R.I.P. Eddie Guerrero
Well, I'm very sad at the death of Eddie Guerrero, one of the best wrestlers/performers I have ever seen. I hope the worst didn't happen. You will be missed, Eddie. | | Saturday, November 5th, 2005 | | 10:04 pm |
Boondocks Pilot Thoughts
The Boondocks "Garden Party" Pretty decent episode. The animation was well-done. Most of the voice acting was good. (except for Rudy/Huey.). And the humor highlights were the grandson acting like a wigger, the running gag of "What are ya'll looking at", and Huey's failed attempts to rile the crowd. I give it 4. Also, I've been watching a lot of Beavis and Butthead (again. One of my teenage favorite shows) on TV since the DVD is out next week, they've been playing the hell out of it on MTV2. I'm not getting the DVD though since there's a few edits, for God knows what reason. It's supposed to be the director's cut. I'll stick to my VHS tapes. | | Thursday, October 27th, 2005 | | 10:56 pm |
South Park/Drawn Together 10/26
South Park: This was actually so-so. Highlights included the Juwanna Mann line, Butters "death", and the blackface bit. I did think that the b-plot wasn't that good with Butters' folks. Though I did like most of the kids, Clyde esp. even the girls get lots of lines. I give it 3.5. Drawn Together: Better than last week's. I really laughed at Toots's head exploding. Also funny were the marriage cermony, the well scene, and the Schoolhouse Rock parody. And it was good to see Ling-Ling have a big role. I give it 3.75 | | Thursday, October 20th, 2005 | | 4:29 pm |
10/20 South Park/Drawn Together Thoughts
South Park: This was a great episode. Highlights included the various news reports (and the anchors named Tom), the drawings on the maps, the warnings that you're going to freeze to death, the sarcastic Beaverton resident, the Jew gold, and the ending. Though they did blow the crab people joke. They could have had someone say 'George Bush does not care about Crab People." I give it 4. Drawn Together: I didn't care for this episode that much. I liked the Mortal Kombat scene, Clara calling Probst an asshole, and Ling-Ling saying "Oh Snap." But the Speedy/wilma scene was horrible. Toot is still around, too. I give it 1.5. | | Tuesday, October 11th, 2005 | | 2:30 pm |
Yankees Lose
Well, the Yankees were eliminated again last night, losing to the Los Angeles Angels. Good. That collision was very funny. And well, that big, big, big payroll is all for naught again. | | Thursday, October 6th, 2005 | | 6:05 am |
Birthday today
Well today's my birthday, and I got the new Fiona Apple CD and a $50 gift card for Best Buy, which is very key for next week. Along with a little bit of candy and a Reese's pillow. Cool. | | Tuesday, September 27th, 2005 | | 7:03 am |
ARD/Fiona Apple New CD Thoughts
Arrested Development: After a very slow start, and Charlize Theron, things picked up with the Chicken Dance, Dave Thomas, BRAD GARRETT, and Tobias' wigs. The verdict: Better than the season premiere. Also, Ron Howard was Opie on the Andy Griffith Show. Who was reference quite a bit here. More brilliant writing. I give it 4.5. Extraordinary Machine: Album leak: http://www.myspace.com/fionaapple So far it's a great CD. Not her best, but great for what it is. I like the title track the most, as well as Waltz, and Tymps. | | Sunday, September 25th, 2005 | | 10:54 pm |
9/25 TV thoughts
The Simpsons: Only positive was that OC theme song. Everything else stunk. I give it .5. Family Guy: Possibly the worst FG ever. I didn't laugh once. Lots of drawn-out scenes, including the Stewie/Ferrell scene. I give it 0. American Dad: Alright episode. I liked the fat kid, the Star Wars Kid, dan vebber (he's a real writer on the show.) and Roger hanging himself. The Yankees scene would've been funnier if they made fun of Giambi. I give it 3. Curb: Very good, though not one of the best episodes. The best part was the bit with Ted Danson. I give it 4. | | Tuesday, September 20th, 2005 | | 7:00 am |
Arrested Development 9/19
Not the best episode. But it had its moments. The Gob scenes were the best. I liked his scene in the beginning with Michael and his meeting with STEVE HOLT!! Oscar had a funny scene with the dotcom site. I'm really going to miss Henry Winkler. That was a great ending. The Lucille plot wasn't that good. It dragged a lot. Overall, it was very good, but not at the level of many of the Season 2 episodes. | | Saturday, September 17th, 2005 | | 7:12 pm |

Music Rant
Warning: This is a rant. Warning. Well, another year has gone and another crappy VMA's. Luckily I didn't watch it as last year's show was horrible. If there were some positives it was Green Day winning a lot. (I like that Broken Dreams video) And that awesome Gorillaz video winning too. But mostly it was a rap show that further proves that Rock is for the most part dead in pop culture. It's now mostly Rap, and that shitty Reggaeton. Rock has little to no impact in today's society despite the brisk sales of opening-week CD's. And most of the successful rock bands are either whiny emo bands, or 80's-sounding crap bands. While the more established bands that have come out with CD's this year have had singles and songs that aren't as good as their previous hit songs. So in summation, the music industry is pretty shitty today. At least I have the new Fiona Apple CD in October to look forward. Thank God Sony finally got the balls to release that. Not to mention the latest Nellie McKay CD comes out in October too. From the artist who had last year's CD of the Year. And next year, presumably Radiohead will grace us with their latest offering. God Bless Radiohead. That is all. | | Monday, August 15th, 2005 | | 4:11 pm |

7/31 Hogan Knows Best
Interesting conversation between Hulk and Brooke about the Hall of Fame. Brooke was unsure regarding the HOF. Really dumb moment when Hulk and Linda were debating presenting and inducting. Dumb. I did like all the wrestling cameos. And Vince's speech. Of course ironically, Hassan made an appearance, complete with Davari and some sort of music. I hope no watchdog groups watched this episode. | | Sunday, July 17th, 2005 | | 10:13 pm |
7/17 FG/Hogan Knows Best Thoughts
Family Guy: Better than the last few FG's. Highlights included the A-HA video, the Quagmire scene, the Blob scene, and Ethan Hawke. I'm sure a certain somebody liked the Malcolm line. I give it 3.5. Hogan Knows Best: This was another great episode. That was some nefarious plot that backfired when Hulk set up Nick with the pin-up. I enjoyed Brooke's small part as an instigator, and her dirty rhymes. | | Thursday, July 14th, 2005 | | 3:54 pm |
Emmy Picks
Emmy Picks Here's the best cartoon noms: Family Guy, Simpsons, Samurai Jack, Spongebob, and South Park. I think either FG or SP will win, with me leaning towards South Park, since that was a classic episode. Other picks: Best Comedy: AD of course. Though Desperate could get it, knowing the critics. Best Drama: 24. Though Lost could get it, knowing the critics. Best Actor in a Drama: Kiefer. Best Actress in a Drama: Glenn Close. Best Actor in a Comedy: Jason Bateman. And Jeffrey Tambor/Jessica Walter will win the best Supporting Noms. Also new Fantasy Smackdown up at: http://www.livejournal.com/users/corradofant/ | | Sunday, July 10th, 2005 | | 10:37 pm |
FG and Hogan Knows Best Thoughts
Family Guy: This wasn't so great. I did laugh at the I can't believe it's not Butter, and the Simpsons reference. But the puking scene went on way too long. I give it 2.5. Hogan Knows Best: I enjoyed this episode a lot. Funniest line: Linda: "Adam's here." Hulk: "But I'm watching wrestling." I also laughed at pierced nipples, the gay beach, and the car guy saying he's glad he's not Brooke Hogan. But man is Hogan overprotective or what. Then again, I don't blame him since Brooke is very hot. | | 12:35 pm |
